LISBON, N.D. (AP) — The new North Dakota Veterans Home in Lisbon was dedicated today.
U.S. Sen. John Hoeven spoke at the event and said that the nation can't do enough to show appreciation for the dedication of military veterans. The North Dakota Republican says the new home will enhance the lives of those who live there.
The new home groups single residential rooms around common living areas, making for a household-style living arrangement. Hoeven says the state funded $11 million of the $25.6 million project when he was governor two years ago.
Current Gov. Jack Dalrymple also attended Saturday's ceremony, saying the new facility is one way to show veterans that their sacrifices will never be forgotten.
