A 22-year-old Dickinson man needed stitches after an unidentified man bit his nose and other parts of his body, according to the Dickinson Police Department.

“He was struck in the head from behind and fell to the ground, the suspect then hit and bit him several times before running off,” said Capt. Joe Cianni. “He had a bite wound on his right index finger and first knuckle, a bite wound on his upper left pectoral and the lower portion of his nose was bitten almost off.”

The incident occurred on 12th Street West near Army’s West Sports Bar just before 1 a.m. Sunday, according to DPD.

“They’re currently reviewing video of the incident,” Cianni said.

The victim was transported to the hospital, but Cianni was unsure if he had been released.

“I would imagine he was treated and released,” he said.

No suspects have been named and police are investigating, he added.
