Man injured in Highway 22 accident

A New Hradec man was injured Saturday morning when he entered the wrong lane while traveling on Highway 22, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

A New Hradec man was injured Saturday morning when he entered the wrong lane while traveling on Highway 22, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Darin Hickel, 46, was heading north to New Hradec in Dunn County at about 55 mph when he was distracted and entered the southbound lane.

Dan Oberle, 56, of Victor, Mont., was traveling south. He tried to slow down and steer away from the collission, according to the HP.

Hickel’s vehicle hit Oberle’s and Hickel ended up in the east ditch.

Both were wearing seat belts. Oberle was not injured. However, Hickel was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash is under investigation.
