DSU issue tabled

The North Dakota University System was on the agenda for the Legislature’s Interim Higher Education Committee meeting Tuesday to discuss Dickinson State University’s enrollment issue.

Dr. Richard McCallum is awaiting a hearing which will determine whether or not SBHE will fire him for allegedly inflating enrollment numbers and causing other issues at DSU.

However, SBHE President Grant Shaft said he could not discuss further information about the situation.

“Because the board members are the ultimate arbiters of that decision regarding the hearing process, now board members including myself we’re not able to expand anymore on the specific fact situation,” Shaft said.
