Laura Hann is the new full-time program coordinator at the Best Friends Mentoring Program.
She will manage the Community Based Program and Literacy/Tutoring Program.
A Minnesota native, Hann will work with the children and families enrolled in the program, assisting with recruiting and training mentors, and matching mentors with youth who need a positive role model. In addition, she will handle placing and scheduling tutors alongside managing outreach services.
“Laura has had many experiences that will be an asset to our program,” Executive Director Kris Fehr said. “We are excited to have her join Best Friends and look forward to the positive impact she will have on at-risk youth we serve and our community.”
Hann has managed volunteers in India and AmeriCorps; worked with at-risk youth at Eckerd Youth Alternatives in Vermont; and has volunteered in India and Nicaragua. She holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations and diplomacy from Seton Hall University in South Orange, N.J., and is completing her master’s degree in public administration and governance from the University of the Philippines.
“I’m excited to be part of a program focused on the whole community, government, non-profit and business working together to transform the lives of youth,” Hann said.
