Esquival takes 2nd at VCSU Invite

VALLEY CITY — Dickinson State cross country runner Vanessa Esquival had a second-place finish at the Valley City State Invitational on Friday.

Esquival’s time of 16 minutes, 11.60 seconds was 22 seconds short of Jamestown’s Aleona Reyes but less than 22 seconds ahead of DSU’s Gladys Rotich, who came in fifth with a 16:33.

Dustin Sandbak led the DSU men with a fifth-place time of 22:40.60.
