Jahner wins medalist at Links of ND

RAY — Cool temperatures and a 40 mph wind made the Links of North Dakota golf course live up to its Scottish styling Monday.

RAY — Cool temperatures and a 40 mph wind made the Links of North Dakota golf course live up to its Scottish styling Monday.

But, Dickinson’s Rachel Jahner wasn’t swayed by the environment, winning a one-hole playoff with Williston’s Kayla Barke to earn medalist honors at the Williston Invitational with an 83, which was 11 over par.

Jahner helped the Midgets to a second-place team finish behind Bismarck Century, which had a 367.

Riana Cooper was third with an 87. Kira Haag (95) and Rachel Lantz (114) rounded out the Midgets’ team scoring at 379.

Dickinson’s next meet is Saturday at Tom O’Leary Golf Course in Bismarck and is an individual state qualifying tournament.
