Jordan Maher, Katie Zent earn DAC weekly honors

Two area natives were awarded Dakota Athletic Conference weekly honors Monday.
Jordan Maher, a Bowman native and defensive lineman for Valley City State, was named the DAC’s defensive player of the week after logging eight total tackles, including a sack and two tackles for a loss, in the Vikings 52-20 win over Mayville State on Oct. 8.
Katie Zent, a former Richardton-Taylor standout, earned volleyball hitter of the week after the Jamestown College junior she recorded 53 kills, 68 digs, four aces, two solo blocks and 21 block assists over five matches. Zent also had a .311 hitting percentage as she led the Jimmies to a 4-1 record for the week.
Maher’s teammates, LeTheo Proctor and Bernando Marte, earned DAC football offensive and special teams players of the week, respectively.
