BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple will outline a disaster aid plan for North Dakota flood victims when the Legislature starts its special session Monday.

It's scheduled to start at 9 a.m. Dalrymple is speaking to a joint session of the North Dakota House and Senate shortly after 10 a.m.

He says he'll talk about legislation to provide help for North Dakotans who lost homes and property in this year's flooding. He says it's been in the works for several months.

Lawmakers will also be taking up bills on legislative redistricting and health care, and a proposal to allow the University of North Dakota to drop its Fighting Sioux nickname.

They hope the session will last a week. Dalrymple says there's no reason the work can't be finished in five days.
