SD Mines women have 5 score in double figures of 85-64 win over DSU

RAPID CITY, S.D. — South Dakota Mines broke things open in the second half to hand former Dakota Athletic Conference foe Dickinson State its fifth consecutive loss Saturday afternoon.

Justine Blade had 22 points to lead five Hardrockers in double figures as they won 85-64 at the King Center.

Mines outscored the Blue Hawks 32-10 in the post and shot 51 percent from the field.

Shalane Hampp scored 17 points, Katie Strandholm had 16, Janelle Stramp added 13 and Hillary Hawkins finished with 12.

Kylee Bittner led DSU with 18 points and seven rebounds.

Yianna Nadeau had 13 points and nine rebounds, Ashley Jelly had 10 points and Mandy Mullock finished with nine points, a team-high 10 boards and five steals for the Blue Hawks (3-8).

DSU shot 34 percent from the field.
