• Region 7 Basketball: Inside the numbers

The top two ranked teams in Class B boys basketball will play Thursday when Beulah hosts North Star.

The teams held on to their Nos. 1 and 2 spots, respectively, in the Class B poll released Monday.

Beulah (7-0) is No. 1 for the third consecutive week after receiving eight first-place votes. North Star (6-0) has followed the Miners at No. 2 each week and received four first-place votes after defeating No. 5-ranked Grafton last week.

Dickinson Trinity made the polls biggest leap, moving from No. 10 to No. 8 after winning three games last week to improve to 7-0.

Carrington remained No. 1 in the Class B girls poll, receiving all 13 first-place votes. The top five remained unchanged.

Grant County and Beach held steady at Nos. 4 and 9, respectively.

The polls are voted on by members of the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.
