The Mandaree post office is planning to be permanently closed by the U.S. Postal Service. The deadline to submit comments was on Dec. 5.
On Friday, Dec. 2, Mandaree residents submitted a petition of 673 signatures along with letters of support from local businesses, companies, services and tribal government to the Postal Regulatory Commission in Washington, D.C.
Monday, Dec. 5, was the deadline to submit comments. I attached a petition of 690 signatures (more were gathered after the Dec. 2 submission), with supporting letters to the Postal Service. This petition does not include the residents of the four oilfield man camps or the two resorts/bays near Mandaree.
Our district representatives were contacted and only a few responded.
At this time, Mandaree residents would like to thank the businesses, companies, services and tribal government for their letters of support.
