Semis crash on Highway 85; Montana man injured
A Montana semi driver was injured after he tried to pass a semi hauling a water tanker that was turning off of Highway 85 south of Watford City on Thursday.
A Montana semi driver was injured after he tried to pass a semi hauling a water tanker that was turning off of Highway 85 south of Watford City on Thursday.
Charles Wolfe, 71, Billings, Mont. was pulling a flatbed loaded with piping and heading north on Highway 85 when he tried to overtake the water tanker as the driver attempted to turn left onto a gravel road, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Wolfe’s vehicle hit the tanker, which was driven by James Davis of Dickinson. It overturned and rotated 180 degrees on the road and slid into the ditch. Wolfe was injured and he was taken to the hospital. Davis was not injured, according to the NDHP.
The incident is under investigation.
