No. 1’s stay same in polls, Trinity boys move to No. 4

The North Star boys and Carrington girls held onto their respective unanimous No. 1 spots in the Class B basketball polls on Monday following the holiday slow week.

The North Star boys and Carrington girls held onto their respective unanimous No. 1 spots in the Class B basketball polls on Monday following the holiday slow week.

The Dickinson Trinity boys reached their highest ranking of the season at No. 4, passing previously No. 1-ranked Beulah, who dropped one spot to No. 5.

Trinity hosts winless Glen Ullin-Hebron at 7 p.m. today.

LaMoure, the team with the most wins at 12-0, remained No. 3, while Region 7’s New England (6-2) and Hazen (8-0) each received votes.

Beach was the lone Region 7 in the girls poll, hanging in at No. 10. Grant County remained No. 5.

Carrington defeated Grafton 57-55 last week, which knocked Grafton from No. 2 to No. 3. Central Cass moved into the second spot and the rest of the girls poll was unchanged.

The polls are voted on by members of the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.
