Dickinson Trinity wasted no time Tuesday night against Glen Ullin-Hebron.

The No. 4-ranked Titans relied on a well-rounded effort to pick up an 82-32 District 14 victory at Knights of Columbus Activities Center.

“It was good to get back on the court after the Christmas break,” Trinity head coach Gregg Grinsteinner said. “… I was impressed with our overall team effort.”

Trinity senior Austin Garwyluk got his first start of the season and made the extra minutes count, scoring 17 points and adding four rebounds, four assists and four steals.

“He started and really played well tonight,” Grinsteinner said. “I think he set the tone in the paint for us.”

Jacob Volk had a game-high 18 points for the Titans (9-0, 2-0 District 14) while Isiah Binstock added 12 points and six rebounds. Dylan Fridrich had eight points, six rebounds and six steals.

But, the player that really caught Grinsteinner’s eye was senior point guard Mason Schiff, who played his first game of the season after recovering from surgery to repair ligament tears in his knee suffered during the football season.

Schiff scored eight points on 4 of 5 shooting and had three rebounds in 10 minutes.

“We got Mason back and that was nice to see,” Grinsteinner said. “We got him some minutes tonight and that was important, to start working him back into the rotation.”

Glen Ullin-Hebron, which fell to 0-8 on the season and 0-1 in District 14, was led by Dylin Patton’s nine points.

The Bearcats committed 29 turnovers.

“The defensive effort was very, very good tonight,” Grinsteinner said.
