The Bismarck State College volleyball team has signed a pair of all-state volleyball players from Dickinson.
Leslie Beaudoin and Madison Deibert have each signed letters of intent to play for the Mystics next fall.
Both were Class A all-state first team selections as seniors and led Dickinson High to back-to-back sixth-place finishes at the state tournament.
Deibert, a 5-foot-9 outside hitter, was an all-state second team selection as a junior and went on to earn all-Western Dakota Association honors as a senior along with her all-state nod.
Deibert said she chose BSC because of her ability to balance playing with the nursing degree she plans to pursue.
After debating whether or not she wanted to continue playing, Deibert said Dickinson volleyball coach Jay Schobinger convinced her with one question.
He said, ‘Well do you think you’d miss it?’” Deibert said. “I was like, yeah, I’d definitely miss volleyball.”
Beaudoin, a 5-foot-10 middle hitter, was all-WDA and was named to the all-state tournament team.
She said BSC seemed like the place for her and was pleased with how well she connected with head coach Jeni Walsh.
“I absolutely loved the coach,” Beaudoin said. “Jeni Walsh seems amazing and I’ve only heard great things about her. With the offer they made me, it all seemed to be the right thing, the right situation.”
