Stark County commissioner reconsiders reelection

Two weeks after his announcement to retire from the Stark County Commission, Duane “Bucky” Wolf announced Wednesday that he has reconsidered his decision to run in June’s primary election.

Two weeks after his announcement to retire from the Stark County Commission, Duane “Bucky” Wolf announced Wednesday that he has reconsidered his decision to run in June’s primary election.

“I got to thinking that I like the job and I like the people I work with,” he said. “Then I really got scared when I got to thinking that after being so busy after all these years that I’m going to go do nothing.”

Wolf is in his 12th year on the commission. He was also a Dickinson police officer for more than 37 years until he retired in 1998. At age 74, he said he still has what it takes to serve on the commission.

“I do have the experience and I do have the time to give it justice,” he said.
