BISMARCK — The Bismarck Century boys hockey team had too much firepower for West Region foe Dickinson.
The Patriots scored three goals in the first period en route to a 9-0 win over the Midgets on Tuesday.
“We played well and we hung with them for a while,” Dickinson head coach Tom Folske said. “They are one of the best teams in the West (Region).”
Century’s Ethan Luck netted a hat trick after two goals in the first period and another in the second.
Alex Rauhauser aided the Patriots with five points. He had two goals and three assists.
The Midgets’ Jamison Gray stopped 38 shots on goal, while Century’s Ryan Hanson saved all eight shots.
Dickinson faced the top two teams in the West Region in a span of four days. The Midgets lost to Bottineau-Rugby 9-0 on Saturday. Folske said he knows its tough battled facing a couple top teams in the state.
“The kids know it’s an uphill battle when we played those two teams,” Folske said. “We improved over the last time we played them.”
The Midgets are off until next Wednesday when they visit Minot High.
“We’ve just got keep building on the positives from tonight, because, we’ve got Minot in a week,” Folske said.
