Patriots beat Midgets in wrestling dual

BISMARCK — Bismarck Century’s wrestling dual against Dickinson High began at 152 pounds and home team couldn’t do much wrong.

The Patriots won seven of the first nine matches en route to a 46-27 win over Dickinson in a West Region dual on Thursday.

The Midgets saw pins from Devin Berger (120), Alec Lindsey (138), Michael Cherwinski (152) and Chris Sickler (220). Dickinson’s other winner was Bryton Brien with a 9-4 decision over Brandon Domagala.

Dickinson lost two matches decided by a decision. Austin Hutzenbiler (106) lost a 6-4 decision to Nate Humann, while Michael Dobitz took a 9-3 lost to Hunter Bondeson.

The Midgets now make the three-hour trip from Dickinson to Belle Fourche, S.D., for a two-day tournament that begins today.
