DEVILS LAKE — The Dickinson High girls hockey team improved from its first game against Devils Lake.
The Firebirds scored the first three goals en route to a 4-1 win on Saturday.
The first time the teams met, the Firebirds won handily 12-0.
Sophomore McKenna Love scored the Midgets’ lone goal 8 minutes, 4 seconds into the second period. Freshman Kayla Wallace came on for the assist.
Kayla Sackenreuter took the led for Devils Lake (2-14) scoring two second-period goals and earning one assist.
The Midgets (1-16) had eighth-grader Breanna Chamberlain in goal and she stopped 34 shots.
Firebirds goalie Mariah LaMotte faced 19 shots on goal and stopped all but one.
Dickinson has a tough task hosting Bismarck High at 5:15 p.m. Thursday.
