MINOT — The Minot High boys hockey team did most of its damage Wednesday during a three-goal second period.

The Magicians added two goals in the third period to defeat Dickinson 5-1 in a West Region game.

“We played with Minot stride for stride,” Dickinson head coach Tom Folske said. “The second period was filled with penalties and they scored two power-play goals.”

Senior Jake Hoffer had the Midgets lone goal 6 minutes, 37 seconds into the second period. Junior Jayden Mink came on for the assist.

Andrew Keller led Minot’s attack with a hat trick capped off on the final goal of the game with 2:26 left.

“We were in the game and then they scored two quick goals,” Folske said. “After that we couldn’t dig ourselves out.”
