WILLISTON — Leslie Beaudoin scored a career-high 26 points while Taylor Cooper and Ali Moody each had double-doubles as the Dickinson High girls basketball team picked up a crucial West Region victory over Williston.

Cooper flirted with a triple-double, finishing with 12 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists and three steals as the Midgets edged the Coyotes 68-62 in overtime.

“We had a well-rounded offensive and defensive effort,” Dickinson coach Dan Pender said.

Moody added 13 points and 13 rebounds and helped Mackee Hoffmann with the defensive efforts on Williston senior standout Danielle Clarke, who had 17 points, seven rebounds and six steals.

Clarke led the Coyotes (4-10, 2-9 West) back from a 32-21 halftime deficit. However, Dickinson outscored Williston 8-2 in overtime.

The Midgets (4-9, 3-8 West) held a 54-34 advantage on the boards.

The win moved Dickinson out of last place in the West.

“This is a big win for us,” Pender said. “We’ve still got to take care of business, but it’s tough to go on the road and get a win. I’m just proud of the girls and how they played.”
