A Rhame boy died Sunday after an ATV accident, Bowman County Sheriff Rory Teigen said this morning.
Teigen added that 4-year-old Calvin Steeke was found in his family’s front yard, and a call for an ambulance was sent at 11:57 a.m. Steeke was rushed to a Bowman hospital minutes after the accident, Teigen said.
Trevor Steeke, Calvin’s father, said his family has “had better days." Steeke hopes area farmers and ranchers can learn from the accident.
“If you got young kids, young grandkids, give them an extra hug because they might not be with you tomorrow, or in an hour,” Steeke said. “One day you’re having breakfast with them, and the next day he’s gone.”
Steeke added that he donated Calvin’s organs.
