WILLISTON — A span of 41 seconds turned out to be the demise of the Dickinson High boys hockey team.

Oliver Sogard netted a hat trick to lead Williston past Dickinson 3-2 in a West Region game on Thursday.

“We came out of the gate ready to play and we dominated the first period,” Dickinson head coach Tom Folske said. “We just had a couple breakaways and the next two periods we were trying to dig ourselves out of a hole.”

The Midgets were able to score two goals in the second period. Jayden Mink continues his hot streak of goals in the last four games with Dickinson’s first in the second period. Michael Porter supplied the final goal for the Midgets.

“We did a lot better job today in the offensive zone by putting pressure on their defensemen,” Folske said.

Matt Porter was in goal for the Midgets and he stopped 27 shots, while Taylor Wagner gloved 25 shots.
