Wolf, U-Mary DMR team set state record at D2 nationals

MANKATO, Minn. — Dickinson native Dakota Wolf was a member of a state-record breaking relay team Friday during the NCAA Division II indoor track and field national championships.

MANKATO, Minn. — Dickinson native Dakota Wolf was a member of a state-record breaking relay team Friday during the NCAA Division II indoor track and field national championships.

Wolf and three of her University of Mary teammates ran the distance medley relay in 11 minutes, 34 seconds, breaking North Dakota State’s record by 1.06 seconds to finish third in the nation.

Grand Valley State won the race with a Division II record of 11:23.35. Adams State was second. Wolf, Melissa Agnew, Rikki Schmidt and Kayla Carlson earned All-America status for U-Mary.

Wolf and Agnew each reached the finals in the mile run.

Wolf, a junior Dickinson High School graduate, ran the fifth-best time of 4:53.52.

The finals begin at 3 p.m. today.
