Minot Ryan eases through LAE for fifth place

BISMARCK - Minot Ryan outscored Lakota/Adams-Edmore 31-16 in the second half to rally to a 51-39 win in the fifth-place game.

Ryan broke a 27-27 tie with a 14-4 run to close the third quarter with a 41-31 lead. Anika Rovig had five points to lead Ryan’s third quarter-closing spurt. Ryan’s 21 points in the third quarter were more than the Lady Lions scored in the first half, which closed with Lakota/A-E leading 23-20. Ryan led by six or more the entire fourth quarter.

Hannah Stewart’s double double of 15 points and 14 rebounds paced Ryan. Rovig added 13 points. Fallyn Freije had 16 points and eight rebounds to lead Lakota/Adams-Edmore, with Ashtin Freije adding 13 points.
