A father calling out to his daughter from his vehicle to remind her that she had an appointment got taken out of context, DPS Superintendent Doug Sullivan said.
“Somehow I don’t know what’s out on Facebook or what it is, but somehow it got blown out of proportion,” he said.
DPS appreciates the “heightened sense of awareness, but there needs to be some caution too so we don’t unnecessarily create concern and worry,” he said.
Someone called the Dickinson Police Department reporting the incident, Capt. Dave Wilkie said, adding two girls were removed from school to be interviewed and to make sure all was in order.
