FARGO - Gwen Sebastian, the Hebron native who landed a spot on country star Blake Shelton’s team on the NBC vocal competition “The Voice,” was eliminated on Monday night’s episode.

Country-style Sebastian and teammate Erin Willett competed against each other in Monday night’s Battle Round, singing Pat Benatar’s “We Belong.”

Shelton called both Sebastian and Willett “amazing” and “unbelievable,” but eventually declared Willet the winner.

After Shelton’s decision, Sebastian thanked him and the other celebrity judges for the opportunity to be on the show. She had earlier turned down offers by R&B star Cee Lo Green and pop rocker Adam Levine before joining Shelton’s team in an episode in February.

“This has been amazing,” she said.
