BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The military says western North Dakota's oil drilling hasn't disturbed the nuclear missiles in underground silos.
But the Air Force says it's worried about the oil boom for another reason.
Officials are meeting with oil industry representatives to emphasize that when it comes to roads and truck traffic, the military has the right of way.
Col. S.L. Davis is commander of the 91st Missile Wing at Minot Air Force Base. He says the military and the oil industry can coexist in western North Dakota.
Davis oversees 150 Minuteman III missiles located in underground launch silos over 8,500 square miles in northwestern North Dakota.
