DSU women victorious at Jackrabbit Stampede
BROOKINGS, S.D. — The Dickinson State women’s rodeo team had a strong week, winning both of the back-to-back Jackrabbit Stampede rodeos, Great Plains Region events hosted by South Dakota State.
BROOKINGS, S.D. — The Dickinson State women’s rodeo team had a strong week, winning both of the back-to-back Jackrabbit Stampede rodeos, Great Plains Region events hosted by South Dakota State.
Bobbi Grann claimed the women’s all-around win at the first two-day rodeo, held Thursday and Friday. She won both the barrel racing and goat tying with two-round average times of 26.83 seconds and 12.6 seconds, respectively.
DSU’s men finished second behind host SDSU at the first Matt Wznick won the tie-down roping with a average time of 20.5 seconds.
DSU’s men and women each finished third in the team standings at the second set of nights, held Saturday and Sunday. Then SDSU men and Black Hills State women took top honors.
Riley Knoll was the only saddle bronc rider to log four qualified rides. He had a 131 average to win the opening rodeo and had a 144 to win the second rodeo.
