BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Bobcat Co. is expanding and adding jobs in Bismarck, almost 2 ½ years after closing a manufacturing plant in North Dakota's capital city and laying off nearly 500 workers.
Bobcat says it is expanding operations at its manufacturing support center in Bismarck and acquiring additional land at the Northern Plains Commerce Center to create an innovation center for product development and testing.
The expansion that will cost at least $8 million is expected to be completed by the end of 2014. About 200 jobs will be created.
West Fargo-based Bobcat makes construction equipment. U.S. Sen. John Hoeven says it employs 1,850 people at various locations in the state.
