Knopik, Trinity win at Black Sands

BEULAH — Nathaniel Knopik took medalist honors, Willy Jahner tied for runner-up honors as the Dickinson Trinity boys golf team picked up a victory Monday at the Beulah Invitational.

Knopik had a two-over par 72 and Jahner shot a 73 at Black Sands Golf Course as the Titans combined to shoot a season-high 308 and beat Hazen by four strokes.

“Nathaniel, he’s played and put a lot of time in,” Trinity head coach Tyler Reisenauer said. “That hard work is finally starting to pay off for that guy. I’m proud of him.”

Josh Rothe and Brett Leier each shot 73 for Hazen while Heart River’s Mitch Krebs carded a 75 to round out the top five.

Lance Pender shot an 80 and David Pokorny an 83 to round out Trinity’s team score. Connor Friske had an 84.
