Midgets show progress in loss to Williston

After enduring a tough match against Bismarck Century to open the season, Williston defeated Dickinson 6-3 on Tuesday.
“I definitely saw an improvement from a week ago,” Dickinson head coach James Kramer said. “Doubles play was a lot better than a week ago.”
The Midgets saw individual wins from Lindsey Bakken and Keely Kleven at Nos. 4 and 5 singles, respectively. Bakken defeated Danielle Hodenfield 6-0 and 7-5, while Kleven won 6-4 and 6-2 over Mariah Jorda.
Dickinson’s No. 1 doubles team of Bakken and Brooke Lietzke also come away with a win 6-3, 6-2 win over Cassidy Owens and Kayla Barke.
The Midgets host Bismarck St. Mary’s at 3 p.m. Thursday.
