MAYVILLE — The Dickinson State baseball team fell victim to two four-run sixth innings during the first day of the Dakota Athletic Conference Tournament.
This time it was the eighth inning that proved to be the difference.
Jamestown College plated four runs including a three-run home run from Jakob Ohmann in the eighth inning to defeat DSU 6-4 on Saturday at Scott Berry Field.
The Blue Hawks held a 4-2 lead going into the eighth inning after scoring three runs in the second and added a run in the sixth.
Ohmann turned on the first pitch from Andrew Grafton to straight away center with runners on first and second. The home run was Ohmann lone hit in the game.
DSU’s C.J. Ketron was tagged with the loss, while Chris Combo pitched the eighth inning for the win.
The Jimmies (31-14) also had Nico Moreno going 2-for-3 with a RBI and Mitch Stevens and Kyle Mallory each supplying two hits.
For the Blue Hawks, Jacob Muir and Ryan Risse each tallied three hits and two RBIs. Jonathon Mendoza added two hits and scored a run.
The season is now over for DSU as the Blue Hawks finish 21-26 overall.
