The Dickinson Area Concert Association announces the kickoff of its 2012-2013 membership drive.
Invitations were mailed to association members, and solicitation of the community at large is under way.
Membership entitles a member to attend six concerts. Groups performing include:
* The New Odyssey (three individuals who play 30 instruments) on Oct. 12.
* Two On Tap (tapping and singing reminiscent of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers) on Nov. 2.
* Intersection Trio (violin, cello and piano team) on Dec. 15.
* Ilya Uakushev (Russian classical pianist) on March 23.
* Abbey Road Band (Beatles music) on April 5.
* Barbary Coast Dixieland Band on May 10, 2013.
Concerts will be presented either in Dickinson State University Dorothy Stickney Auditorium or at the Trinity High School auditorium.
New members will be entitled to attend the upcoming concert featuring Metales M5 (Mexican Brass Band) at Trinity High School without extra charge.
The association’s goal is to bring quality and varied entertainment to the Dickinson area. It has committed to spend approximately $30,000 for the 2012-2013 concert series, and is able to do so because of increased financial support from the community, according to a press release.
Memberships are $55 for adults ($50 if paid before June 1) and $25 for students ($20). A family membership (two adults and their children) is available for $120 ($110 if paid before June 1).
Several levels of financial support are available to those who wish to provide additional support.
Sponsors: For a $500 contribution, receive four adult or two family memberships, four guest tickets and additional recognition.
Benefactors: For a contribution of $250, receive two adult tickets.
Patron: A contribution of 150 includes one adult ticket.
Friends: Those who contribute up to $100.
