Hawks teams place first at Great Falls

GREAT FALLS, Mont. — The Dickinson State men’s and women’s track and field teams ran strong in the Montana air.

The Blue Hawk men won six events and the women won 10 at the Great Falls Invitational on Sunday.

On the men’s side, Nathan Magstadt won the 110- and 400-meter hurdles at 14.7 and 54.03 seconds respectively. The sophomore also helped the 1,600 relay to a win (3:26.66).

The Blue Hawks scored 109.5 points, followed by Great Falls with 90 and Carroll College (Mont.) 60.5.

Andrew Knebel was also the relay team to help secure a win. Knebel won the high jump at 6 feet, 7 inches.

JohnPaul Williams won the long jump at 20-7¾, while Brady Sundheim took top honors in the triple jump (46-4).

On the women’s side, Shelby Snare won the 100 (12.99) and 200 (25.93) dashes. DSU scored 140 points to win the meet.

The other winners for the Blue Hawks were Stormie Sickler in the 800 (2:25.64), Brittany Young in the 1,500 (4:44.77) and Brianny Williams in the 100 hurdles (14.92).

DSU won the won the 400 and 1600 relay, while Hailey Schaper, Jennifer Hartman and Kim Schulz all took win the field events.

Schaper won the high jump (5-7), Hartman won the long jump (17-4) and Schulz won the javelin (122-11).
