Dickinson softball team sweeps Bismarck High
BISMARCK — The Dickinson High softball team’s main goal Tuesday was to jump out to an early lead.
BISMARCK — The Dickinson High softball team’s main goal Tuesday was to jump out to an early lead.
The Midgets did just that, piling on runs early to defeat West Region opponent Bismarck High 12-1 and 11-8 on Tuesday.
Dickinson held an 8-0 lead going into the bottom of the sixth in Game 1. The Midgets added four runs in the seventh. Lafond took the win for Dickinson while Ashlee Luptak was charged with the loss.
Beth Honeyman, Lafond and Jessica Priebe each had two hits and scored at least one run.
In the second game, the Midgets scored 10 runs in the first three innings. Haley Butterfield pitched the win and Luptak took back-to-back losses.
The Midgets collected 13 hits in the game. Priebe, Lafond, Rachel Jahner, Sierra Rohr and Lexi Yates each had two hits.
Dickinson travels back to Bismarck to play Century on Friday.
