Steve Deaton of Heimdal has been charged with felony counts of aggravated assault, terrorizing, interference with an emergency phone call and preventing arrest.
According to a criminal complaint, Deaton choked his wife and pointed a gun at her in front of their two children, ages 6 and 3, during an argument. The gunshot out a front window of the house.
Deaton then allegedly chased the woman out of the house with a sword and began cutting up property within the house.
Each felony charge is punishable by up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
