Schaper wins boys all-around at Killdeer Rodeo

Halliday’s Logan Schaper claimed the boys all-around wins Sunday at the Killdeer Rodeo, a North Dakota High School Rodeo Association event.

Schaper placed second in the steer wrestling, third in the team roping with header Tate Harris and was third in the cow cutting.

Coleman Entze of Golden Vallley won the bull riding at Killdeer and at Saturday’s Williston Rodeo. He had a 73-point ride in Williston and a 75 in Killdeer.

Richardton’s Dalton Rixen won the saddle bronc riding at Killdeer with a 65 while Halliday’s Skye Schaper won the breakaway roping in 3.71 seconds.

Glen Ullin’s Cameron Morman won the steer wrestling in a time of 4.59 seconds and teamed up with Rixen to finish third in the team roping en route to a tie for the all-around win with Tate Benson of Scobey, Mont., at Williston.

Benson and Cotey Hanson of Berthold won the team roping in 8.64 seconds and improved at Killdeer to win again, this time in 6.66 seconds.

Morman won the tie-down roping at Killdeer with a time of 10.5 seconds.
