What started out as a small delivery service Shawn Brockhoeft ran out of his garage in Dickinson has blossomed into a full-service vending company.
Professional Vending Services LLC has grown rapidly since its quiet start-up in 2011 and its owners recently moved it into a warehouse in north Dickinson.
“I needed to take this from my garage to Main Street … and grow with the market,” Brockhoeft said.
He partnered with William Jerome and in November they re-launched the business and offer “familiar favorites” as well as “new choices.” Their customers enjoy a variety of snacks, sandwiches, sodas and other beverages.
In about six months the company went from 32 machines to about 100, Jerome said.
They pride themselves in being “big enough to meet your needs, small enough to care.”
Brockhoeft began the journey because he was dissatisfied with the vending services at the company he worked for. He purchased a vending machine to use at work and the rest is history.
Jerome, who also runs a local distribution company, jumped on board because he was getting calls requesting vending services.
“We’ve been able to fill that void,” Brockhoeft said.
The energy activity in the area has opened doors for the company.
“I think keeping employees on-site lends itself to being more productive because they don’t have to be out fighting traffic,” Brockhoeft said.
James Kadrmas, facility coordinator for Baker Hughes in Dickinson, is pleased with the service.
“He takes care of the machine so I don’t have to mess around with it,” he said. “It’s just one less headache that I have to deal with.”
Customers also like that they can have several brands of refreshments in one machine, Jerome said. In addition, PVS offers healthy choices, alongside chips and sweets.
Brockhoeft’s wife, Stephanie, and 15-year-old daughter Kyra, also work for Professional Vending.
“It’s a very family-oriented business,” Brockhoeft said.
The company services Dickinson and communities within 30-miles.
