BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Authorities say a Bismarck bar brawl that involved about 15 people apparently started when a man refused to put out a cigarette.

Police Sgt. Mark Buschena said that the 27-year-old man from Casper, Wyo., was drunk and playing blackjack at Chips Casino & Lounge on Saturday when he became angry at the demands that he extinguish his cigarette.

The police report says the ensuing fight involved people throwing chairs and beer bottles at one another. No one was immediately arrested, but Buschena says the case has been forwarded to the city attorney.

Buschena estimates damage to four bar tables at $1,000. He says $5 worth of poker chips also was stolen.
