Helping people get back to work well

Those who are injured on the job have a new option for care since Work Partners of North Dakota is open in north Dickinson. Dr. Frederick Mosley and his wife Jalane opened the clinic about three weeks ago.

“Pretty much anything that comes in — pre-employment, injury, surveillance, safety — we can manage that,” Frederick said.

The company offers chiropractic therapy and medical staff provides a broad range of services, said Bill Burckhard, physician assistant.

“We can do anything from suturing to casting,” he added.

Since staff is available until 10 p.m., their clients don’t have to go to an emergency room for minor injuries, Frederick said.

“We get to see the patients right at the time of injury and can start a treatment plan then,” he said. “We think that through exercise, the body will repair itself. We tend to not use a lot of medications because again we like the body to do what the body is meant to do.”

Clinic Manager Jeff Mosley said the company works with employees and employers.

“So we kind of see both sides of it because we have to obviously help the patient but we also have to try not to run costs up for employers,” he said. “We touch anywhere from the oilfield to Walmart employees.”

Frederick and Jalane have about 20 years of experience in occupational medicine.

“This is our passion,” Jalane said. “We feel we bring to the table the experience from workers comp to the insurance side.”

Frederick added they understand the psychology that can come along with injuries.

“So we’ll talk about what else could be going on if our examination doesn’t show much but the person is saying ‘I’m in so much pain I can’t work,’” he said. “We will work with the employer, the injured worker, the insurance company. The more communication you do the more you can break down barriers and get to the root of the problem.”

They operated several other clinics in other states, but are now concentrating on Work Partners.

“The goal was to figure out how to do this well and eventually get back closer to home because our family is all from the twin cities and the Dakotas,” Jeff said.

Work Partners of North Dakota is at 653 19th St. W.

“We’re excited to be in the community,” Jeff said. “We’re hoping to do a nice job for the companies in Dickinson.”
