The Forest Service in Dickinson is seeking public comment on three projects that will go through National Forest System land in Billings County, according to a press release.
Whiting Oil & Gas Corp. of Denver plans to install approximately one mile of three-inch diameter fiberglass flowline in Section 31, Township 142 North, Range 100 West, to transport crude oil.
Roughrider Electric Cooperative Inc. of Dickinson plans to replace approximately 870 feet of buried and overhead electrical distribution lines, which are located Section 17, Township 142 North, Range 100 West. The company also plans to construct about two miles of electrical line underground through Sections 1, 12 and 13 of Township 143 North, Range 103 West.
All projects are located on land marked as “rangelands with diverse natural appearing landscapes, according to the release. The land is maintained for plants, animals and ecological processes and functions. Cultural, botanical and wildlife surveys will be reviewed by the Forest Service for these projects.
Comments are due to the Medora Ranger District office by Friday, according to the release. They must include a name, address, phone number and the name of the project. Comments are considered public record for public inspection.
