WILLISTON — The offensive woes continue for the Dickinson Roughriders.
Williston piled up a three-run inning in the opening game of a doubleheader en route to a 4-1 win and finished off the sweep with a 6-2 win in an American Legion statewide doubleheader on Tuesday.
“The pitching is not bad,” Dickinson head coach Cory Hansen said. “We’re just not finding the holes at the plate. We’re hitting right at guys right now. It’s tough and kids are getting frustrated.”
Roughriders starting pitcher Mason Schiff threw five innings and allowed four runs, while Luke Herauf came in relief to shut down the Keybirds.
“Mason pitched pretty well,” Hansen said. “Luke did a good job and shut them down and we couldn’t score.”
Dickinson (1-7) had three hits in the first game and had one hit, a Mickey Folske RBI single in the second game.
“We didn’t hit the ball real well,” Hansen said.
In the second game, James Kary pitched three innings and allowed five runs. Alex Huschka threw the final four innings and allowed one run.
The Roughriders travels back to Williston for the Delaney Tournament that begins Thursday.
