Shoppers will be able to check out the Dickinson JCPenney again Saturday after it was closed due to fire damage June 15.
The Prairie Hills Mall store was left smoke-ridden after fire burned merchandise on the rack.
JCPenney Manager Douglas Erickson said Thursday that customers will be able to shop in the store starting Saturday.
“It was tough, but our team really came together to make sure we could get open quick and be ready to serve our customers,” he said, adding the staff has missed the shoppers.
A clothes rack on the east side of the retailer caught fire, prompting an evacuation. The cause of the fire is unknown.
Erickson did not have an estimate of the damage, but said about 80 percent of the merchandise was replaced because of smoke damage.
“We’re almost 100 percent cleaned up and ready to go,” he said.
