Letter: Affordable Care Act necessary
Thank goodness we now have the Affordable Care Act so that all Americans can enjoy quality health care services.
Thank goodness we now have the Affordable Care Act so that all Americans can enjoy quality health care services.
We are the richest country on Earth and we are finally joining all other developed countries in providing quality health care to all of our citizens.
We have had the highest spending per capita on health care of any nation, but our life expectancy is shorter than countries where they have universal healthcare coverage.
Our health care system is so expensive that it will bankrupt us even though many are not even covered. The new law will reform health care and require it to be affordable. As a humane nation, we are mandated to look after our poor.
We must make affordable health care coverage available to them. Believing the rich will voluntarily take care of the sick and the poor is like thinking illegal aliens will voluntarily deport themselves. The new law makes health care affordable for all.
We need to have the political will in Washington to uphold and improve this new health care law. We need to affirm this progressive piece of legislation rather than reject it because without the reforms it includes our health care costs will continue to rise as insurance companies continue to strive to increase profits.
Many would remain uninsured. Leaving the insurance companies in charge without reforms would cost us much more in the long run in money and lives. Heidi Heitkamp understands this, Rick Berg does not.
Elect Heitkamp as our next senator and she will take us on the reasonable and humane path.
