Lightning strikes 50-year-old tree

Lawrence Schilla looks at the 50-year-old green ash tree that was hit by lightning at 9 p.m. Thursday in his yard at 620 Ninth Ave. W. He said the fireworks on the Fourth of July were impressive, but nothing compared to the power of Mother Nature. The strike rattled his house and startled the neighbors.
