MINOT (AP) — A park within the North Dakota state fairgrounds that lets visitors fish and shoot has been restored after last summer’s flooding.

The state Game and Fish Department hosts the “conservation and outdoor skills” park. It was reopened Thursday during a ceremony.

It has a fishing pond with rainbow trout, perch and bluegill, and places where visitors can practice shooting air rifles and bows and arrows. There are displays to help people identify different types of fish.

Last year’s state fair was canceled because of widespread flooding in Minot.

The North Dakota State Fair begins Friday.
