DHS announces practice dates, yearly athletic fees

Dickinson High School has announced its fall sports practice start dates, along with its annual participation fees.

High school students pay an athletic participation fee of $60 per sport with an individual maximum of $150 per school year. Hagen Junior High students pay an athletic participation fee of $30 per sport with an individual maximum of $75 per year.

There will also be an all-sports kickoff picnic at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26 at the Dickinson Recreation Center with McDonalds hamburgers being served along with bars and chips.

The event is free to all DHS Booster Club members, coaches and athletes. It is $5 for non-members.

Boys tennis

Junior high and high school: First practice, 5:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at DHS courts.

Cheerleading

Junior high and high school: Aug. 6, 9-11 a.m. at DHS Commons

Cross Country

Junior high and high school: First practice, 8 a.m. Aug. 13 at DHS east entrance

Football

High school: Equipment hand-out, 4 p.m. Aug. 6; parent meeting, 7 p.m. Aug. 6; first practice 7:30 a.m. Aug. 8 at DHS practice field.

Junior high: Parent meeting and equipment handout, 4 p.m. Aug. 19 at Hagen; first practice, Aug. 22 after school.

Girls golf

Junior high and high school: First practice, 10:30 a.m. Aug. 6 at Heart River Golf Course

Girls swimming

Junior high and high school: Aug. 13, time and place TBD

Volleyball

Grades 10-12: First practice, 8:30 a.m. Aug. 13 at DHS gym.

Grade 9: First practice, 9 a.m. Aug. 16 at DHS gym.

Junior high: First practice, Aug. 22 after school at Hagen/Berg
