A judge sentenced Jeremy Zastoupil, 31, of Dickinson, to 10 years in prison and three years of supervised release, on a charge of coercion and enticement of a minor on Monday, according to the Department of Justice.
In August, Zastoupil had an Internet chat session with an undercover Dickinson police officer, who introduced himself as a 14-year-old female from Dickinson, according to a press release. Judge Daniel Hovland also ordered Zastoupil to pay $100 to the Crime Victim’s Fund and he must register as a sex offender.
Zastoupil pleaded guilty on May 9.
The case was investigated by the Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations, Stark County State’s Attorney’s Office, Dickinson Police Department and North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
